BOB KENT PHOTOGRAPHY

My first commercial photography gig was in high school when I got my first DSLR. Camera. It turned out that I had an eye for composition. I became my school’s newspaper/yearbook photographer and started making money selling action photos to the athletes to their parents.

Simultaneously, I was discovering the Eastern Sierra. One of my neighbor friend’s family loved fishing and I would go with them to June Lake every summer. That started my decades-long love relationship with the Eastern Sierra and I now own a home here that is a staging area for my Eastern Sierra adventures.

My focus as a photographer is to bring people images of the places they love – the Eastern Sierra.

Why do I do what I do? Our world is fast-paced and full of stress and tension, full of short deadlines and tense challenges. Nature is exactly the opposite, it is calm and soothing. If you sit quietly in nature, that calm flows through you. Nature is the remedy for a stressful world.

My photography is a way to bottle nature’s calm and share it with my audience.
