My path to creating art with stone began with rock hounding. During years spent in western tech industries and national parklands -- including managing a Utah rock shop -- my practical experience in geology grew. Happily, my academic background and rock hounding morphed into creating art with natural stone, most native to North America. I was fortunate to have an apprenticeship with old-school lapidarists who gave me access to vintage rock collections.

My work is based on evocative images I find embedded in natural stone. I design an organic shape around the image. Pieces use minimal hardware. No distracting embellishments -- no artificial materials -- no bling. I exhibit at arts festivals, my website, retail stores, and galleries.
