Los Angeles native and contemporary ceramic artist, Monique Hilfer graduated from California State University Long Beach with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in ceramics.

Besides being represented by many fine art and craft galleries throughout the US, Monique enjoys the hands on interactive experience with her clientele by showing her work on the art fair circuit throughout California, Arizona, Nevada, Idaho and Utah.

Fun and functional is what best describes the dynamic and whimsical wheel thrown and hand glazed low fire pottery that she creates. Her brightly colored vibrant forms seem to come alive and dance, calling out for interaction with them.

Another aspect of Monique’s work consists of hand built slab work comprised of highly textural, stamped and hand carved wall art pieces and ceramic framed mirrors embellished with uplifting and inspirational affirmations and sayings which cut directly to the heart and spirit. People genuinely connect with the form, color and content of Monique’s pieces and become collectors.
